Late Post: Christmas and New Year's 2013 [picture heavy]

Hey guys! Just a quick update on the situation mentioned in my previous post before we get started (you can skip to the next paragraph if you don't care); I found a few potential new homes for Koji so we won't have to get rid of him forever. (details at the end of the post) Phew! My mom has been discharged from the hospital and we are all working together to get back to normal. I also started school again so that's really helped occupy my mind.

So as the title suggest, this will be a late post about my Christmas and New Year's celebration. This year was rather quiet because of recent happenings, but it turned out a lot better than I anticipated.
For Christmas, I had a small dinner with my sister, my boyfriend, and his family. We had lots of good food and talked a lot about my situation. It was really nice, and his parents were very kind to us.

On the weekend after Christmas I had a potluck with my friends. We made gingerbread houses and some other rather inappropriate gingerbread goods LOL.

Yes, that is a gingerbread man part.
All the yummy food! I made the roast veggies~

My uncle from Toronto visited us this year so we had a big family dinner. I was really happy because I absolutely adore my dad's side of the family, so it was nice to see everyone again. I mostly see them at holiday dinners but really no more than twice a year since everyone's always so busy ;^;

I went out once with just my uncle and grandma, then once with the whole family. So here are photos from both days:

For NYE I decided to stay casual. I was so tired from partying and cleaning my house that I just wanted to relax. I spent it with my close friends and we played video games all night. We counted down together and had a wonderful time.
That pretty much wraps up my holiday. Now I'm back at school and frantically packing/cleaning. I'm going to be back at work again next week too so that will make life even more stressful. Hopefully the move will be smooth and we'll have little to worry about. We still need to furniture shop and pack our essentials, but all the small stuff like shoes and kitchen appliances are ready to go!

My cousin's wife's mom has agreed to take Koji until mid-March so I won't have to worry about him for a bit. She's a huge dog lover and has 2 of her own. I think he'll get some good disciplining from her as well as better social skills from the other dogs. The move is stressful for all of us but I hope that he can tough it out with me. I'll be visiting him as much as I can and hopefully we'll ride this out. My mom wants to ask the landlady if we can keep him after we've settled down but I think it's better if I just move out with him.

I think that as long as her relatives are in the picture I'll have a tough time keeping Koji. My best option is to move out on my own as soon as humanly possible and go from there. Luckily I have lots of friends wanting to move out as well and would love to have me and Koji so maybe it won't be as hard as moving on my own. But we'll cross that bridge when we get to it I suppose.
Anyways, this post ended up way longer than I expected! (Oops, sorry for the rambling!) I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are enjoying the new year. I've got some exciting posts coming up so I'll try my best to get those out! xoxo

[♥Sponsored♥] i.Fairy Tofi Blue Lens Review

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. It's been raining a lot lately so I haven't got much chance to do sunlight pictures for this review. Nevertheless, I have lots of pictures and information to share with you so I'll just get right into it.

I am reviewing the i.Fairy Tofi Blue lenses today which were kindly sponsored by LensVillage. You can check them out by clicking the banner in the sidebar to the right. I'll also provide more links at the end of this post!
Secure packaging~
In the bottle
 Diameter: 16.2 mm
Base Curve: 8.6 mm
Duration: 1 year disposable
My boyfriend actually picked these out for me. I really wanted a blue lens but I was very particular about the shade of blue. I wanted it to look dolly but not stand out too much (so no aqua or bright blue). I still wanted them to be a vibrant blue without looking like a grey lens.

So here I'm just reusing an old picture so that you can see the enlargement difference:

Color ♥♥♥
These lenses are absolutely stunning. The blue is so captivating! It's not too shocking of a color so it looks quite natural from far away. I actually have a confession: I grew up hating blue lenses because I thought they looked tacky on Asian girls. But after trying these out I have to say, I am in love!

Design ♥♥♥
The design on these lenses is brilliant. As Catherine said, it makes the blue almost funnel into my natural brown which creates an alluring effect. The outer ring is not too dark so you still get the dolly like enlargement without it looking too unnatural.

Enlargement ♥♥♥♥
I think these are the biggest lenses I've ever had to date. At 16.2 mm these were almost too big in my opinion. Without makeup you would definitely look like an alien haha! On top of that diameter, you get the black outer ring which adds even more enlargement~

Comfort ♥♥♥♥
Because of how large these lenses are, they were a bit uncomfortable when I first put them in. After getting used to them they were not so bad. However I was very conscious of the fact that I was wearing lenses when I had these in because I could feel them blurring my peripheral vision just a tad bit (not uncomfortable or discomforting in any way though, just felt kind of peculiar!).

Overall ♥♥♥♥
I think these lenses are amazing. They've really changed my opinion on blue lenses haha. If you are looking for a natural but vibrant blue lens, you should definitely give these a try. You will get a very dolly look because the lens is so large so make sure you have some makeup on otherwise you might look a bit strange! Also due to the large size I think your eyes will get tired quicker while wearing them as opposed to a smaller lens (if that makes sense).
I'd like to thank LensVillage for giving me this opportunity to work with them. They treated me very well and had very friendly service. The shipping was quick and I was extremely satisfied with my overall experience. I highly recommend you check out their shop as well as their other sites: FacebookBlogTwitter!

I hope you found this review helpful. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment below! See you in my next post~

A Fresh Start (personal post)

Hello everyone! I didn't think I would be back so soon but it's a new year and things are beginning to look up for me and my family... sort of. First off, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and new years. I'll tell you how mine went in another post~ Secondly, my mom is doing well and it looks like she'll be back home with us by the end of the month, so yay!

This will be a rather personal post. I'm going to share a little about my current situation as well as vent a little of my personal feelings since no one really cares about that other than me right now.
These past two weeks have been really tough for me. With my mom in the hospital, her side of the family stepped in to take care of my sister and me. They're making us go through a lot of life changes right now and some of them are tougher than others. For starters, they all forced me to give Koji away. I can't even begin to tell you how upset I was. Every chance they got they would always tell me I was never allowed to bring him back and that one day, when I had my own place and job I could have whatever pet I wanted. Bullshit.

I asked Patrick to take him for a little bit but his parents said they were only able to keep him until the spring because they are renting out their downstairs as well as going to a wedding in Mexico. So now I need to find another home for him. My plan was to find a temporary home for him until I graduated in the summer. Then I would move out and he could come live with me. I have a few more people to ask but it's not looking so good at the moment. I'm scared of giving him away forever...I visit him all the time and I miss him so much.
Isn't he just the sweetest thing? ;^; I really hope I can find someone to take him for a few months. Everything will be so much easier once I graduate...
The next thing they're making us do is move houses. I really don't have anything against this though. I actually don't even really mind the place we're moving to, but it's kind of far from school (closer to my work) and it's a bit of a pain to get to my friends/bf's place without a car.

The place itself is a bit more spacious than where we're currently living. The rent is a tiny bit more expensive but my relatives said they'll handle it. The only thing that's kind of annoying is that the land lady has a cleaner come in every 2 weeks to do chores and stuff. I know that doesn't sound like a bad thing but the cleaner is actually there to check up on us and make sure we're not wrecking the place (on top of doing chores). If anything seems out of line, they'll report it to the land lady and we'll get in trouble for it. So you can see how that would get annoying.
Of course there are several other things that we need to do but right now those are the top two biggest issues I've been struggling with as of late. I really don't know how to handle being separated from Koji like this and I also don't want to have my relatives breathing down my neck this whole time.

The thing that bothers me most about all this is that they don't even care about my sister's or my feelings about this whole matter. They just keep telling us to suck it up and that it's our job to sacrifice for the family in times of need. They keep telling me how selfish I am and how poor my life decisions were. Pointing fingers and saying who's to blame for sending my mom over the edge.

I don't know. I just want to live my own life. Finish school, move out, and just be my own person. I'm 21 going on 22, I should feel independent and confident in myself. But I don't. I feel like I'm going to be trapped forever. Like I won't ever get to live life for myself. Like I'll always be carrying someone else's responsibilities and  burdens. My cousin told me that now is the time for me to work my butt off and set the tone for my future. She says I'll only be young once and if I don't set myself up for a good future I'll have a tough life.

I just.. I get to be young once and I'm not even allowed to enjoy it. I didn't even get much of a childhood because of how messed up things were at home, and now I have to give up my 20's too? First my childhood, then my teens and now my 20's. And I'm the one being selfish here. I'm the one not giving enough. I can't even comprehend the level of shit I'm getting thrown at me right now. It's ridiculous... I don't know. Maybe I'm being selfish. Maybe wanting to live my own life is just a little too much to ask for =__=

Regardless of my feelings, I'm glad we're not in a rut. I'm actually very grateful that they're willing to come take care of us like this. But I wish they would be more considerate of our feelings. The only thing keeping me going right now is the thought of graduation. It's only a few short months away and when it finally comes, I'll be free.
Anyways I don't want to drag this on too long. I'm sorry it got so depressing near the end. I might just edit that out later but for now I'll just leave it. On a lighter note I got a new pair of lenses from a new sponsor that I'll be reviewing soon. I'll also be posting about my Christmas/New Year's Eve celebrations so look forward to those.

Thanks for taking the time to read this/leave a comment. I really appreciate each and every single one of you. See you later~ <3
