My world has fallen apart and I don't know if I can pick up the pieces again. I never thought that I would have to call a hiatus on my blog. I never thought that any of this would ever happen. At this point, I doubt anyone even cares. I don't even know what to think anymore. I don't want to think anymore.

TL;DR: Until further notice, this blog may or may not be active. My mom is in the hospital. I don't want to talk about it.

edit: I have a pair of sponsor lenses coming in so I will be putting that up when I have the time (since it is a business post.) Other than that I'm not sure when I will update.

♛ 2013 Gal Re-Cap ♛

Hello lovelies! It's that time of year again where I dig up old photos of myself and stick them in this nifty meme that Lizzie was kind enough to share with us ♥ You can see my first meme on this post. Last year I started gal in May so and the post was made in March so there will be a little bit of an overlap~ >__<;;
*The first 3 months are copy pasta from my last post (except I changed January's picture thinking I didn't already do those months. Oops!):

January 2013: I got new circle lenses (but so far I've only worn them twice). Nothing's really too different. I started to pay more attention to my brows.

February 2013: Went back to using my prescribed lenses. Using less shadow on my lower lash line now.

March 2013: Started drawing a 'point' in the inner corner to define my eyes.

April 2013: Toyed around with light, minimal makeup. I didn't want to put too much stress on my eyes. Ditched the whole pointed inner corner thing because my eyes just aren't shaped for that shit.

May 2013: Trying out different eye shapes by manipulating the placement of lower lashes. Brought the lower lashes closer to the mid-point of my lower lash line.

June 2013: Finally got the hang of my brow makeup. I use a brow pencil to line the bottom edge (for shaping), then I fill in the entire brow with powder. I think it looks more natural this way~ I used to use only pencil to fill them in like a noob ;^;

July 2013: Not much done here, just playing with the lower lashes again.

August 2013: Went back to light makeup. Tried out that eye bag thing everyone was doing. Didn't really like it too much so I stopped.

September 2013: Lining the center of my lower lash line only and having my lower lashes start there. Started adding more eyeshadow on the lower lash line as well. Brows started to get sloppy :<

October 2013: Got interested in highlighting and contouring. I started contouring my nose a bit (very lightly, now that I look at the pictures lol). Refined my brow technique; I started using a nude concealer pencil to outline the brows, making it look a lot cleaner and defined.
November 2013: Tried to straighten out my brows and failed miserably. Arched brows for life I guess. Worked more on contouring but it's still too light.

December 2013: Tried getting into smokey makeup again. Contouring is a little bit better I guess (at least you can see my nose has a shape now lmfao). Found new lower lashes that I liked, and of course working on that brow game because my brows are impossible.
For this year, I think I finally got a handle on changing my eye shape with lower lashes. I've definitely become more comfortable with using them! My favorite of the bunch are June and Sept-Nov. Looking back at last year's meme I think I've definitely changed a lot! I'm happy to say that I've actually grown a little ^__^;;

Well that's all for this post, I hope you enjoyed it! I'll catch you around later~

❅ AFW Sweater Haul & Review ❅

Hi everyone. I'm really excited to say that my Asia Fashion Wholesale haul came in today so I wanted to share the items I got with you as well as do a little review on them! Please be aware that this is not a sponsored review and links will be provided for each item~
I noticed that many of my old sweaters have not been able to keep me warm this year so I put in a small haul on Asia Fashion Wholesale for some thicker ones.

The first sweater that I ordered was a fluffy white one with a rose print on the front. I thought this would be nice with some leggings and boots considering that it is such a large fit.

This sweater was a lot thinner than I thought it was going to be. It's also not as fluffy as it is in the pictures which was kind of disappointing. But it is very soft and true to the color and size~
The next item I got was this grey fuzzy angora sweater. I've been obsessed with fuzzy sweaters like this one ever since I laid eyes on them. I thought I would get it in grey since I own a lot of black and white.

This sweater was absolutely spot on, and my favorite of the bunch! It's very soft and cozy~
The next item was this cute black and white fuzzy cardigan. I thought I would pick this up because we actually sold one like this at Forever21 but it was crazy expensive.

This sweater was such a let down for me. I thought the spots would be much darker and the cardigan itself would be much longer. As you can see from the picture it's super wide and short. This one also smelled like mold when I pulled it out of the bag. Although all the sweaters smelled of like "factory" or whatever, this one smelled the worst and even felt a bit wet when I took it out (Patrick thought it was just the way the fabric feels when it's cold so I'm not sure about this last point). I had to hang this up, spritz it with some fragrance and air dry it before I could wear it.
Finally, I've saved the best worst for last! I picked up this last sweater because I was really in love with the color.

Okay, right off the bat you can tell that the sweaters are different colors. Actually if you saw my sweater in person, you would be able to see that it's got a whole lot of grey woven into it.

***Upon closer inspection of the stock photos, I can tell that this is the same sweater (the slit on the sides and the edge of the sleeves) so technically this should be a 5/5.

However when I placed my order, I anticipated this sweater to be a bright vivid light blue like in the pictures. I was so sad when this turned out to be a grey/blue mix. This was my least favorite sweater of the bunch. It was probably my fault for not looking carefully, but the pictures made me think the sweater was pure blue. I ended up giving this to my sister.
Just a few more things to note about my order. I know it's really close to Christmas so the post has been relatively slow lately. It took a month for the package to arrive this time. Overall I wasn't thrilled with this order but I think it was just poor item selection on my part.

I actually went and picked up a sweater from work after getting this package because I was so sad lol. I'm really happy with this one and I think it's my favorite sweater right now!
Ahh I love it so much! I'm going to wear it like crazy this next week haha. I'll be sure to share my outfits with you!
Anywho, thanks so much for reading! I'll see you later ~

Luxor Hair Salon Review

Hey guys! In this post I wanted to share with you a magical experience I had at a local hair salon a few weeks ago last month. I never really know where to go to get my hair done since most salons I've looked into have mixed reviews/high price points. I usually go to whoever does my mom's hair but I don't really like her choice of hairdressers lol so I'm glad I took the plunge on this one! I thought I would write up a review so that anyone in the local area could enjoy this place too~ (also: this is not a sponsored post).
I don't know if anyone has noticed but I have horrible roots! I have a terrible habit of only coloring my hair every 6+ months and it's just awful. 1) my hair looks nasty and 2) it's really expensive to fix roots that long! While I was in Kerrisdale for my dentist appointment I stumbled upon a small Japanese salon called Luxor Hair Salon. It looked really pretty and clean on the inside. I looked it up and it had some pretty rave reviews, so I decided to head on in and ask for a price estimate.
Inside! (picture taken from their facebook page)
They were very kind and welcoming when I walked in. They estimated that it would cost around $80-90 to get my roots done because of how long they were and how thick my hair was. I thought that was alright as it would have costed me around the same amount at my mom's hairdresser but here, they would do what I asked without giving me a lecture on my hair styling choices.
They walked me to the closet and hung up my coat. Then they opened up a little locker for me to place my bag (kind of like at the swimming pool so you get to keep the key for it~). After that they sat me down, gave me some hot green tea and my stylist for the day, Rie, came to give me a consultation.
My lovely stylist Rie! (photo taken from
the Luxor website)
She was very friendly and super sweet. She explained the entire process she wanted to do on my hair and actually asked me if I had any allergies or abnormal reactions to hair coloring (which is a first for me even though I was taught this in hair school D:)

After everything was settled she gave me a stack of magazines to read and began the coloring process. It was a little awkward at first but then I broke the ice with her and had a really nice chat about Japan. She said she really liked it here and prefers it over Japan, but she does miss home and would like to visit!
I think the best part of my entire visit was the rinse off. Rie gave me an incredible massage and I even got a hot towel treatment as well! It was all so relaxing, I almost fell asleep at the sink haha~
My freshly colored roots! (you can see Domo and my
StarCraft II poster in the corner >w<;;)
She wanted to style my hair as well but it started raining outside so I told her I was fine with her just drying it. When we were finished, she walked me over to get my things and then I paid my bill. She waited for me at the door with her business card and thanked me for visiting. She held the door open for me and that was the end of my magical salon experience!
I'm really excited to go back there again! Maybe next time I'll get a perm from her since that is her specialty~ If you are in the area, I highly recommend you give this place a try! Thanks for reading, I'll catch you all later.

'Tis the Season: OOTD #11 & #12

Hello again my lovely readers~ How have you all been doing? Lately I've been getting little to no sleep. I'm going to be finished my term in 2 weeks so right now all the time I have is used for crunching. If I'm not at school, I'm at work and I just feel super burnt out ;^;
With the little free time I had, I helped my boyfriend set up the Christmas tree at his house~ It's so pretty when it's all lit up *^* Seriously, Christmas has to be my most favorite holiday!
I've also been really getting into sweater coordinates. It got really cold here recently so everyone's started to bundle up. My gripe with sweaters is that you can often look very frumpy. A way to combat this is to mix and match different fabric textures! I'm really loving the pleather/plastic skirt and sweater combo for this:
Photo not mine, taken from LookBook
(I just noticed I had the same sweater as her lol)
Dress&Sweater: Forever21/Shoes&Socks&Scarf: Offbrand
I don't own any skirts like that so I tried to cut up the textures by wearing pleather boots and a more tight fitting dress. Anyway, here's my makeup for that day
I've also been practicing more with brows and contouring when I do my makeup. The face palette I got from Christina's giveaway has really been helping me with this.
Please don't mind the horrible lash placement.
This was taken after work ;^;
I also went out for dinner with my boyfriend two nights ago. We went to Cardero's, which is near the harbor. It was a small Christmas dinner with some of his co-workers and their significant others. I thought I was going to be a simple dinner, but it turns out that one of his co-workers was proposing that night! Patrick was asked to help with the preparations, so he went and bought flowers as well as speak with the restaurant staff to ensure that everything went as planned.

All the guests arrived early and we went over the plan together. We were supposed to hide in a back room somewhere. Each of us had a rose and we were to walk out and give it to the lucky girl before we sat down. After all of us had gone, the man of the hour would walk in with a giant bouquet of roses and of course, pop the question! (She said yes of course!) It was really a surreal experience to be a part of such a special moment in someone else's life.

The dinner was really nice, unfortunately it was too dim for me to snap photos, and I didn't want to do any flash photography at the table (since I didn't know many people there and my boyfriend said to let this one go :<). But the food was amazing! We even got free champagne from the restaurant to toast the new couple haha~

Here's my outfit and makeup for the night. Sorry for the dirty mirror! I tried cleaning it but the little flecks just won't budge. I think I'll be buying a new mirror for my room in the new year, as well as a desk so I can move my new computer in (my boyfriend built it specially for me! I'll post pictures when I move it into my room~).
Dress: MA*RS/Belt: MA*RS replica/
Tights: DreamV/ Jewelry& Shoes: Forever21
Finally my last bit of exciting news... it snowed! I was very surprised when I left for school this morning. I almost slipped and fell like 4 times on my way to the bus >__<;;
And that's all for this post! I hope to be updating more in the next few weeks after my school ends. I'm going to be working quite often though since it's the holiday season, but I'll try to squeeze out my other posts I've prepared when I have a little bit of free time like I did tonight.

Thank you all for stopping by! I'll see you again soon~
